Lt. Governor Lee Fisher
Lee Fisher is Ohio's current Lieutenant Governor and a candidate for U.S. Senate.
Fisher is working daily to directly address the national economic crisis on behalf of Ohioans. Throughout his public and private career, Lee has been a champion for Ohio’s working families.
As a state legislator, Lee fought for the families of missing children and the victims of violent crime. As Ohio’s Attorney General, Lee worked to rid neighborhoods of illegal drugs and con-men that prey on the elderly and the poor.
As President of the Center for Families and Children, Lee worked to strengthen families by helping men become more responsible fathers and ensuring that at-risk children receive a better, healthier start in life.
For the past three years, Lee has been Governor Ted Strickland’s partner to lead the fight to bring new jobs and new businesses to communities across Ohio as the state’s Director of Development.
As our U.S. Senator, Lee Fisher will fight to create jobs and improve our economy by giving every Ohioan access to affordable health care, by giving all Ohio’s kids access to world-class education and training and by making Ohio the hub of the alternative energy industry.
Raised in the Cleveland area, Lee graduated from Oberlin College, and earned both his law degree and his master’s degree of nonprofit organization from Case Western Reserve University.
Lee is married to Peggy Zone Fisher, the President and CEO of the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio. They have a son, Jason, who is a recent graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, and a daughter, Jessica, who will be a freshman in college starting this coming fall.
