Does John Kasich Support David Yost or Seth Morgan?
COLUMBUS – The Ohio Democratic Party asked gubernatorial candidate and former Congressman John Kasich to state which Republican candidate he supports for State Auditor, Delaware County Prosecutor Dave Yost or State Representative Seth Morgan.
Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern asked, "Does Congressman Kasich stand with Kevin DeWine, or does he stand with Mary Taylor's longtime mentor Alex Arshinkoff? Does Kasich stand with the Ohio Republican Party, or does he stand with Republican county parties throughout the state? Does he agree with his running mate that Ohio's Auditor should be a CPA, or does he agree with Kevin DeWine that Ohio must have a former county auditor in the position?"
David Yost was endorsed by the Ohio Republican Party as Tea Partiers waged a protest outside Party headquarters. Ohio Republican Party Chairman Kevin DeWine got Yost to switch over to the Auditor's race from the Attorney General's race, clearing the way for his second cousin Mike DeWine. Chairman DeWine also had had choice words for Yost's opponent, Seth Morgan, for staying in the Auditor's race.
Last evening, Seth Morgan earned a major endorsement in the state's most populous county, winning the support of the Cuyahoga County Republican Party. Morgan has also won the endorsements of the Brown County Republican Party and the Greene County Republican Party. In addition, Morgan has been endorsed by Alex Arshinkoff, Summit County GOP Chairman and longtime political mentor of John Kasich's running mate, current Auditor Mary Taylor.
The campaign between Yost and Morgan has already gotten nasty, with each candidate claiming to be the "only auditor" in the race and the two campaigns exchanging scathing letters.
