Ohio Republicans' Convenient Memory on Supreme Court Races

COLUMBUS – Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern issued the following statement in response to the Ohio Republican Party's attack on Chief Justice Eric Brown:

"Kevin DeWine should know better than to criticize Chief Justice Brown for making a reminder phone call in which he did not ask for funds," Redfern said. "Republican crony and convicted felon Tom Noe bragged privately about purchasing seats on the Ohio Supreme Court. He publicly praised Justice Lanzinger, whose campaign he ran. Noe is incredibly close to Justice O'Connor and gave money to four sitting Justices. This relationship may have been forgotten by some, but it has not been forgotten by me. The Ohio Republican Party's convenient lapse of memory has not gone unnoticed."

In addition to Justice Lanzinger and O'Connor, Tom Noe has given money to Justice Evelyn Lundberg Stratton and Justice Terrence O'Donnell. [Toledo Blade, 3/30/10]
