Dear Friend,
In 2006 we achieved tremendous success all across Ohio. Your hard work paid dividends, and the Democratic Party made history on Election Night 2006 when sixteen years of Republican rule crumbled and Ohioans elected a Democratic U.S. Senator, Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Treasurer as well as other Democratic wins across the state. In 2007, we won key races mayoral and city council races throughout the state. In order to capitalize on our investments in 2006 and 2007, we have expanded our permanent field staff. These regional coordinators are working with local county parties and elected officials to maintain and improve our field network for the 2008 presidential election. They are assisting each county organization with candidate recruitment, fundraising, media relations, IT support, and campaign strategy. This will be of particular importance to rural counties that do not have the permanent field organizations of our larger counties. We need people like you running for office. If you decide to run, I want you to know that the state party is here to help, with strategic planning, fundraising and organizing. I hope you will contact one of our regional field coordinators to discuss the candidate opportunities in your area. Included is a list of field staff contact information broken down regionally for your convenience. Please contact them. We need to continue to build upon our successes and add support to our state-wide team as they turn around Ohio. When Democrats work together, we win.
